POSITION SUMMARY:
First Baptist Church South Hill (FBCSH) is seeking a creative, mission-driven Part-Time Content Creator to help capture and communicate the life and ministry of the church through video and digital storytelling. This role plays a vital part in helping the church share the message of Jesus and highlight how God is moving in the lives of people within our congregation and community.
The Content Creator will be responsible for producing video content from worship services, testimonies, ministry activities, and church events, as well as developing engaging social media content that supports the church’s mission and outreach efforts. This individual will help tell the story of what God is doing through FBCSH in ways that inspire worship, strengthen discipleship, and invite others to experience the life found in Christ.
This role reports to the Multi-Media Coordinator and works collaboratively with ministry leaders, staff, and volunteers to ensure visual content supports the church’s mission, culture, and communication strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Video Production & Storytelling
- Record and edit video content from worship services, sermons, ministry activities, and church events.
- Capture testimonies and interview-style videos that highlight stories of life change within the church.
- Produce recap videos from church events such as outreach initiatives, holiday celebrations, ministry gatherings, and special services.
- Edit sermon recordings and create highlight clips that extend the reach of Sunday messages.
- Select clips that clearly communicate the message, testimony, or ministry impact being shared.
- Add titles, captions, music, and simple graphics when needed to enhance storytelling and engagement.
Social Media Content Creation
- Create short-form video content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Produce engaging clips from sermons, testimonies, and ministry moments that help communicate the church’s message online.
- Work with ministry leaders to develop promotional videos for upcoming events, ministries, and church initiatives.
- Identify creative opportunities to capture everyday ministry moments that reflect the culture and mission of FBCSH.
- Ensure video content is formatted appropriately for social media platforms and digital engagement.
Worship & Event Coverage:
- Record video during Sunday worship services when needed.
- Capture content during special services, ministry events, outreach initiatives, and church celebrations.
- Work alongside the media team to ensure video capture supports worship environments respectfully and effectively.
- Help document meaningful ministry moments that highlight the work God is doing through the church.
Media Organization & Project Management:
- Organize and maintain video files, raw footage, and completed projects for future use.
- Ensure video projects are delivered on time for church services, social media, and communication needs.
- Collaborate with the Multi-Media Coordinator to ensure visual content aligns with the church’s communication strategy and ministry priorities.
- Support staff and ministry leaders with video content that helps communicate vision, promote ministry opportunities, and celebrate church life.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for serving the mission of the church.
- Experience in recording and editing video content in live or event environments.
- Ability to capture clear video and audio during worship services and ministry activities.
- Skill in editing both long-form and short-form video content.
- Experience in capturing interview-style recordings and helping non-professional speakers feel comfortable on camera.
- Strong storytelling ability and an eye for identifying meaningful moments in ministry life.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with pastors, ministry leaders, volunteers, and church members.
- Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve preferred.
- Basic knowledge of lighting, framing, audio, and video composition.
